PT Pindad Participation at 2013 APICC

PT Pindad (Persero) participated on 2013 Asia Pasific Intelligence Chiefs Conference (APICC). The conference which held at Sumba Room Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta directly opened by Kepala Staf Umum (Chief of General Staff) Major General Tisna Komara. On the event which held from June 17^th until June 20^th 2013, attended by more over 100 participants who was the chief of military intelligence and came from 29 Asia Pasific countries such as  Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Canada, China, Pakistan, Japan, Laos, France, Malaysia, Philippine, Russia, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vietnam, etc. The Indonesian Armed Forces and US Pasific Command acted as the co-host for the conference organization which themed “Strengthening Cooperation to Meet Evolving Security Changes.”  

Along with the other State Owned Enterprises for the Strategic Industries, such as PT Indonesian Aerospace, and PT PAL Indonesia, PT Pindad displayed some of their weaponry system leading products such as SS2-V1, SS2-V4HB, SS2-V5A1 Assault Riffles, PM2-V1 Riffle, and also G2 handgun Combat and Elite type. Beside the weapon products, Pindad also displayed the combat vehicle product, Anoa 6x6 in a mock-up form. Beside the national strategic industry companies, some companies from USA were also participated on this event such as Field Information Support Tool (FIST), Asia Pasific Advance Network (APAN), dan National Geospatial Agency (NGA).

Some of conference participants from various Asia Pasific countries visited PT Pindad booth and said some compliments for the weapon products which all of its parts were produced in Indonesia. Compliment words such as ‘exceptional weapon’, ‘very good weapons’, and ‘excellent weapon’ were heard from them. Those compliments were one of appreciation form from some of international countries about PT Pindad products.

This conference was made into three days seminar and took some topics which related to intelligence world such as cyber security, maritime security, counter terrorism, and human assistance/disaster relief. By participated in this event, PT Pindad (Persero) could give an information about Indonesia capability to produce weaponry system products which could be one of supporting factor for intelligence area in the future.
