Expanding Market, Pindad Showcased Primary Products at Defense & Security 2019 Bangkok, Thailand

PT Pindad (Persero) displayed a variety of products at the Defense & Security 2019 event to expand the market which was held on 18th-21st November 2019 at the IMPACT Exhibition Center Bangkok, Thailand. The event was attended by President Director of Pindad, Abraham Mose and Director of Technology & Development, Ade Bagdja. The exhibition was officially opened by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, Prayut Chan-o-cha.

Pindad joined a joint booth together with the NDHI cluster in a defense industry pavilion of the Republic of Indonesia. Pindad displayed a variety of products consisting of Medium Tank Harimau mock up, Anoa mock up, Komodo mock up and SS2-V4 weapons.

Indonesian Minister of Defense, Prabowo Subianto who participated in the ASEAN Defense Minister Meeting (ADMM) also attended to read the readiness and advised the entire domestic defense industry to maximize any potential aspects and to explore as many markets as possible.

At the event, President Director of Pindad, Abraham Mose, signed a strategic partnership for the potential export sales of defense products in Malaysia, witnessed by the Malaysian Minister of Defense, Mohamad bin Sabu. The cooperation includes sales, leasing, spare parts and after-sales services, project maintenance and development services for Anoa, Komodo, Military trucks and munitions for the Malaysian Ministry of Defense.

Pindad also signed a MoU with Paramount Group from South Africa to explore the potential of the combat vehicle business in the form of joint production and to sign contracts with strategic partners to support the procurement of Medium Tank Harimau and Tank Boat weapons.

The Chief of Defense of Thailand, General Pompipat Benyasri visited the Pindad booth to see the capability of the domestic defense industry. Thailand is interested in SS2 Assault Rifle and Small Caliber Munitions (MKK) products whose quality has been proven to win various international shooting competitions. While the Royal Thai Army Ordnance Delegation was interested in SS2-V5 and G2 Elite pistols.

The Laos Defense Minister, Gen Chansamone Chanyalath who also visited the Pindad booth was interested in SS2 Assault Rifle products and SPR2 Sniper Rifle which had shooting range up to 2 km. Meanwhile Myanmar's Commander in Chief, Senior General Min Aung is interested in Anoa Combat Vehicle and weapon products.

Defense & Security 2019 presented in a theme of "The Power of Partnership" which focuses on regional cooperation and business partnerships for a more unified and effective response regarding disaster management, cybersecurity, anti-terrorism, and defense production. This event has a long history in partnering with multinational companies, producers, delegates, military decision makers and government officials - especially from ASEAN.
