Pindad and Kemhan RI awarded MVDC 2021 champions

PT Pindad (Persero) together with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemhan RI) held the awarding ceremony for the Winners of the 2021 National Defense and Security Product Design Competition (MVDC 2021) which was held online on Thursday, September 2, 2021. The announcement of the winner of MVDC 2021 was attended by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia , Muhammad Herindra as honorary jury, Head of Research and Development KKIP Kemhan, Lt. Gen. TNI (ret.) Yoedhi Swastanto and CEO of PT Pindad (Persero), Abraham Mose accompanied by Chief of Technology and Development Officer, Sigit P. Santosa and VP of Innovation, Windu Paramarta.

The judging of MVDC 2021 design was carried out by Technology Transfer and Offset Staff of KKIP Kemhan, Sena Maulana, S.Ds., M.sT (Han); Deputy Director of the National Design Center, Mizan Allan de Neve, S.Ds and Lecturer of the Faculty of Art and Design, Bandung Institute of Technology, Imam Damar Djati, S.Sn., M.Sn., Ph.D. The assessment is carried out objectively based on the function of the vehicle design, the logic of the vehicle design, the aesthetics offered in the design and the presentation of the participants in the design presentation.

As for the winners in the Academic category, the first place was won by Muhammad Davy Pradana & Miftah Tri Aryohadi with product design named Tarsius, the second place was won by Tri Deny Molana with Tarsius product design and the third place was won by Mayang Woro Syaffitri, Aldi Nur Affandi & Muhammad Ridwan S with Badak Jawa 4x4 product design. While in the professional category, Achmad Fadillah won first place with Sanca product design, second place went to Geri Primera & Ilham Jauhara with Gupolo product design and third place went to Freksa Arista Ihsan with AUG 17 product design.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Herindra, appreciated the implementation of MVDC 2021 so that it opened up opportunities for the general public and students to participate in expressing their creative ideas for the development of defense and security products.

“I would like to thank you for the assessment that has been carried out objectively by a team of professional judges in their fields. In the future, this activity is expected to be expanded in scope so that it does not only focus on military vehicle design competitions, but other defense and security products such as weapons, personnel equipment and so on that are useful for Indonesian defense and security. I congratulate the winners, hopefully the work of all of you can be useful for this country we love, "explained Herindra.

In his remarks, Chief Technology & Development Officer of PT Pindad (Persero), Sigit P. Santosa expressed his pride in seeing the enthusiasm of the community to participate in MVDC 2021. Sigit said that Indonesia has a lot of potential and young designers who are talented and ready to compete.

“From a total of 524 registrants who entered the administrative selection and then went through a selection process by the jury, we got the top 20, top 10 and finally 3 winners for each category. From here we can see that in Indonesia, there is so much potential from young designers who are talented and ready to compete, so that we can have a sense of optimism and positive hope for innovation in the Indonesian design world in the future, "said Sigit.
