Pindad Holds an Educational Seminar on Child Friendly School Development Programs

PT Pindad (Persero)'s Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL) held an education seminar on the Child Friendly School Development Program on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Grha Pindad Bandung. The event was opened by the Director of Finance and Administration, Wildan Arief.

The seminar presented speakers from the facilitators of national-level child friendly schools, Drs. Iriansyah outlined good practices regarding the implementation of Child Friendly Schools in Indonesia and their impact on children. Drs. Iriansyah presents not only in the form of power point, but also video education with interactive games with seminar participants.

In his speech, WIld Arief said that the purpose of the seminar was a manifestation of the company's contribution in the field of education and tangible evidence of BUMN Present to the Country.

"The purpose of this seminar is to contribute and play an active role in national development (the government's nawacita program), especially in the field of education, as a tangible manifestation of BUMN Present in the Country to advance and educate the next generation," said Wildan.

The seminar was attended by around 100 participants from educators namely principals and teachers as well as students from the level of Elementary School, Middle School, High School and Vocational School in the Kiaracondong district of Bandung. In addition, the event was also attended by mothers of the Pindad Employee Wives Association (IIKP) who were very concerned about education issues.

Child Friendly Schools are schools that consciously strive to guarantee and fulfill children's rights in every aspect of life in a planned and responsible manner. The main principle is non-discrimination of interests, rights to life and respect for children. As stated in article 4 of Law No.23 of 2002 concerning child protection, states that children have the right to be able to live grow, develop, and participate fairly according to human dignity and dignity, and get protection from violence and discrimination.

Child Friendly Schools are open schools, involve children to participate in all activities, social life, and encourage child growth and welfare. Child Friendly Schools are schools, madrasas that are safe, clean, healthy, green, inclusive and comfortable for children's physical, cognitive and psychosocial development, including children who need special education and / or special service education.

Pindad PKBL itself is part of the Corporate Secretary unit company that has duties and functions in the social sector, namely: the fields of education, health improvement, development of public infrastructure, natural disasters, nature conservation, social activities in the context of poverty alleviation, assistance in worship facilities and provide capital loan assistance to small entrepreneurs, with a predetermined type of business.

Through this activity, Pindad supports the implementation of good and friendly education for Indonesian children and encourages the realization of more and more Child Friendly Schools in various parts of Indonesia.
