Promote companies implementing SNI, BSN conduct industrial visit to Pindad

Main Secretary of the National Standardization Agency (BSN), Nasrudin Irawan along with other BSN officials visited PT Pindad (Persero) on Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Auditorium Pindad Bandung in order to visit the industry applying Indonesian National Standard (SNI) in a series of side event activities from Indonesia Quality Expo (IQE) as well as visiting the production facility of smokeless incinerator, Stungta x Pindad. The visit was welcomed by Chief Business of Defense and Security Product officer of PT Pindad (Persero), Wijil Jadmiko; Senior Principal Expert in Innovation, Andri Setiyoso and Director of PT Top Tekno Indo (Hejotekno), Betha Kurniawan.

Wijil Jadmiko in his speech expressed his gratitude for the visit of Main Secretary of BSN with the ranks and entourage of IQE Committee to Pindad. Wijil explained that Pindad’s core business is not only defense and security products but industrial products, starting with excavators to Stungta x Pindad in collaboration with Hejotekno.

“Outside, Pindad it is known as the military industry, even though Pindad has 2 business lines. One of them is that we have an excavator that is truly a domestic product and has been released since 2016. Currently, Stungta x Pindad incinerator is one of our excellent product in the midst of Covid-19 because it can burn medical waste without smoke so that it can reduce air pollution,” Wijil explained.

The Main Secretary of BSN, Nasrudin Irawan expressed his appreciation for the time and acceptance of Pindad in today’s visit. Nasrudin said that Stungta x Pindad incinerator in the future could be a solution to the waste problem in big cities in Indonesia.

“Since in the 90s, garbage has become a major problem in big cities, apart from traffic jams. The amount of waste to this day is difficult to reduce and is actually increasing little by little. Eradiction of this waste problem needs to be solved upstream and downstream, one of which is this incinerator. Stungta x Pindad has pocketed SNI 8421. Our appreciation for the incinerator which is part of innovation that will be needed in big cities. This Stungta x Pindad is one of the SNI BSN guidance and becomes a role model for other industries,” said Nasrudin.

After a brief explanation about Pindad, the Main Secretary of BSN and his staff then reviewed various Pindad industrial product, especially the smokeless incinerator production facility, Stungta x Pindad.
