PT Pindad attends a hearing with commission VI of DPR RI

PT Pindad as a part  of Defense Industry SOEs holding – DEFEND ID, attended a Hearing with Commission VI of Indonesian Parliament on Wednesday, January 25 2023 located at Nusantara 1 DPR-RI Building, Jakarta. The Hearing Meeting was officially opened by Deputy Chairman of Commission VI DPR RI Muhammad Sarmuji and was attended by the President Director of PT Len Industri (Persero) Bobby Rasyidin as holding. The hearing was also attended by all of the President Directors and BoD of DEFEND ID holding entity consisting PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Pindad, PT PAL Indonesia, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, and PT Dahana. The agenda for the Hearing Meeting this time discussed about business performance in 2022 and strategic initiatives for 2023 Holding DEFEND ID.

Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of DPR RI, Muhammad Sarmuji officially opened the hearing by explaining that Commission VI DPR RI needed to know the development of the national defense industry. “Defense industry is a very strategic industry because it is related to the defense and resilience of the country, it is not solely a matter of financial reports but concerns the sovereignty of a country. Therefore it is important to hear directly how defense industry is developing, how far is our ability to produce defense equipment.” Muhammad Sarmuji explained.

President Director of PT Len Industri (Persero), Bobby Rasyidin introduced Holding DEFEND ID, which was the first time to officially attend Hearing Meeting with Commission VI DPR RI which was just inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in 2022. “Today’s meeting agenda is our first performance evaluation of DEFEND ID in 2022. The two DEFEND ID roadmaps and strategic initiatives especially for 2023 as well as the support needed from Ladies and Gentlemen of the Honorable Council.” Bobby Rasyidin explained at the opening of Hearing Meeting.

Commission VI DPR RI appreciates the performance of DEFEND ID holding in relation to the growth of operating income in 2022 which grew by 23.36 percent from 2021 with a value of IDR 19.7 trillion, the realization of EBITDA in 2022 grew by 41.35 percent from 2021 with a value of IDR 1.88 trillion and net profit performance for 2022 grew 198 percent from 2021 with a value of IDR 483 billion.

During the hearing, Commission VI DPR RI provided support for a number of things, including obtaining easy working capital along with the growth of business scale and contracts which increased 6.2 percent from 2021. Commission VI DPR RI also asked for a joint DEFEND ID with the Government to make a roadmap for Defense Industry SOEs in the framework of realizing national defense sovereignty. DEFEND ID is also supported  to ensure readiness to meet the basic needs of domestic Defense & Security ammunition.
