PT Pindad (Persero) at 2nd Congress of Indonesian Diaspora Ministry of Foreign Affairs

PT Pindad (Persero) participated on 2^nd Congress of Indonesian Diaspora which held by Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This event was held on August 18^th-20^th 2013 at Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC). PT Pindad took part on exhibition themed “Indonesia Hebat” along with other 41 companies that divided into some clusters such as Indonesia Bisa, Indonesia Sukses, Indonesia Tamasya, Indonesia Sehat, Indonesia Hijau, Indonesia Cerdas, and Indonesia Berkarya. This event officially opened by President of Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on August 19^th 2013.

According to Indonesia Ambassador for United States of America, Dino Patti Djalal, Diaspora has a meaning each Indonesian people  who work overseas, either legacy or Indonesian spirit, whatever the legal status, working field, ethnic background,  and not distinguish between native and non-native. This 2^nd Congress of Indonesian Diaspora chased a visitor target about 2500 Indonesian Diasporas aroung the world and uniting them in a one congress which themed “Pulang Kampung” and filled with various activities such as exhibition, gathering, fun bike, Kampung Kuliner (Culinary Kampong), task force, and public forum with various theme such as sport, health, politic, et cetera.

On this exhibition, PT Pindad (Persero) displayed their leading military products such as various kinds of rifles: SS2-V1, SS2-V2HB, SS2-V4, PM2-V1, SS2-V5A1, SS1-M1, SS2-V5, SS1-V1, SPR-3, and SPR-2, various kinds of pistols: G2 Combat and Elite series, and some of special vehicle mock-ups such as Anoa Panser, Water Cannon, Mobile Shooting Range, and Komodo Tactical Vehicle. Through the cluster which titled Indonesia Bisa, PT Pindad (Persero) wanted to show to all Indonesian Diasporas who participated on this event, that Indonesia has a domestic weaponry system industry and has a great product quality which could compete with foreign industry products.

The last point being a main concern because there was so many guest which visited PT Pindad didn’t know that various kinds of weapons and combat vehicles were produced by Indonesia citizen themselves. Through PT Pindad participation on this event, hopefully, people would know that there’s State Owned Enterprises Company could produce a great and encouraging products.

This Diaspora Congress had a purpose to establish a forum for thousands Indonesian Diasporas that spread all over the world to work together with united strength and using the Diaspora potential to support the common welfare. Hopefully, this goal could be reached and for PT Pindad, the participation on this event could bring PT Pindad (Persero) name to international public through Indonesian Diasporas that spread all over the world.
