PT PINDAD SIGNS MOU WITH LTAT MALAYSIA ON DEFENSE SERVICES ASIA
Kuala Lumpur – The CEO of PT Pindad, Abraham Mose and the Chief Executive of the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT), Dato' Ahmad Nazim Abd Rahman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday, 28 March 2022 at Defense Services Asia (DSA) 2022, MITEC - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The signing of the MoU between PT Pindad and LTAT was witnessed by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto and Malaysia's Senior Defense Minister, Hishammuddin Hussein.
The signing of the MoU was carried out today to explore opportunities for cooperation between the two parties to develop local defense industry businesses at the country and regional level of each party. This signing is also the first step for Indonesia and Malaysia to synergize and collaborate to improve the capabilities and expertise of their respective defense industries. With the signing of this MoC, it opens market opportunities for Pindad products in Malaysia as well as cooperation in development and funding.
In November last year, a delegation from Malaysia led by Prime Minister Dato' Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Senior Minister of Defence, Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein visited PT Pindad's head office, Bandung. The delegation has seen the various capabilities of PT Pindad as the largest defense company in Indonesia which is known for its high-quality military products.
With the signing of this MoU, it is hoped that bilateral relations between the two countries will further improve. This collaboration is also expected to make PT Pindad a strategic partner of Malaysia and improve capabilities both in terms of technology and company capabilities.
Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera - LTAT, which stands for Armed Forces Fund Board, was established in August 1972. LTAT is a government legal entity that provides benefits for the Malaysian Armed Forces to save for their retirement.
