TJSL Defense Industry SOEs collaborate planting tree at Subang Beach
Subang, December 10, 2021. In order to build a healthy coastal ecosystem while minimizing the occurrence of tidal flooding, the Department of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) of the Defense Industry SOEs (Indhan) collaborated to plant trees in Legon Kulon, Subang Regency on December 10, 2021.
According to SOEs TJSL Coordinator Indhan Donny Gunawan, one of the problems of mankind is cutting without planting, which historically has made human ancestors move from one place to another. According to him, people take too much from nature and don't give back.
“This is a valuable lesson for us, not only taking, but also giving, not only cutting, but also planting. We have to admit, five thousand trees is not a lot in this wide area, but this is still a step, because any work, no matter how big, will still be useful if we start doing, no matter how small. So even though this is not a big contribution, God willing, it will still provide the best possible benefits,” said Donny.
Indhan's SOEs TJSL tree planting is a mandate from the Ministry of SOEs as stated in a letter numbered UND-180DSI.MBU.B/10/2021 regarding the discussion of the collaboration for the National Planting Day TJSL program, as well as a letter numbered S-64/DSI.MBU.B/11/ 2021 regarding TJSL program for National Planting Day.
TJSL Indhan consists of PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), PT Pindad (Persero), PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) and PT DAHANA (Persero). The selection of the location for planting trees in Legon Kulon, Subang Regency is one of the efforts to help residents to minimize the damage caused by tidal floods that often haunt residents.
In recent years, the people of Subang, especially those who living in the Legon Kulon area, have experienced tidal flooding caused by rising sea levels. When a flood occurs, the community experiences no small amount of damage, from damage to houses and their contents, to damage to public facilities that are inaccessible to the public.
"We are happy and touched, TJSL Indhan SOEs came to our place. So far, we have only received assistance when we have a flood disaster, and even then we have difficulty accessing assistance, because usually the water stagnates from two weeks to one month. Therefore, I really hope that CSR can give more attention to the people of Legon Kulon," said the Head of Legon Kulon Sub-district, Aet Rudiatna.
As is known, Indhan SOEs is currently in the final stages of forming the Defense Industry SOEs Holding. Collaborative activities among Indhan SOEs are increasingly intensive as a consolidation step. PT Len Industri (Persero) will focus on the C5ISR Platform along with MRO and 3-dimensional integration solutions (interoperability) through Network Centric Warfare as the holding parent. PT Pindad (Persero) has a focus on land-based platforms, MRO and the provision of weapons and munitions, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) with a focus on airborne and MRO platforms, PT Pal Indonesia (Persero) with a focus on developing marine and MRO units, and PT DAHANA (Persero) with a focus on product development of energetic materials (explosives/propellants) for all dimensions of defense.
