Sudirman Said : Business is About Distributing Value
In order to maintain a good relationship with vendors that support the operational activity of the company, PT Pindad (Persero) was held vendor gathering on Friday, October 3rd 2014 at Grha Pindad. Forty four vendors that have cooperated with PT Pindad (Persero) were attended thie event, which was also attended by Board of Directors, management, and related staffs of PT Pindad (Persero).
The event was held as an appreciation and gratitude from PT Pindad (Persero) to the vendor which has supported the company performance for years. This is our first time to hold this gathering event for vendor as our partner in providing goods and services in operational activity of Pindad. This event also form of gratitude and appreciation for the support and cooperation that have been running so far, said Rita Widayati, Director of Finance and Human Capital of PT Pindad (Persero). She was also added that this event could be a forum to share informations that related to company procurement, Sixty percent of our capital will be shared through cooperation with vendor. Effectiveness and efficiency from this cooperation will give a big impact towards operational transaction of the company. Pindad also needs a feedback from vendors on how this business is develop and we can share it together. On this day we well emphasized the transparency between our company and the vendors, added Rita.
Sudirman Said, the CEO of PT Pindad (Persero) said that vendors are partner to growing together and ask for support, Our revenue is depends on product quality from the vendors. Our revenue depends on relationship between company and vendors. Therefore, its an important thing for me to meet our vendors where my business rely on and place where I ask for support, he said. On last five years, our company revenue was increasing by two times. Whatever happened between company and vendor but still, were growing so much. That growing is just 15% from the budget of the Indonesian National Armed Forces to fulfill the Minimum Essential Forces(MEF), moreover if its getting bigger on 2029, he added.
The CEO was also added that Pindad currently on changing process from company with quasi-bureaucracy into a whole business company. He was had his own perspective about business that should be performed by company, I have my own principal that business can be sustained if we can share value fairly and smoothly. Business is about distributing value. Actually, Pindad is only a terminal because eighty percent of our incomes are back to the vendors, he said. He was also said that company opportunities at the future would be opened as the strategy changing that carried out by the company as the lead integrator of Indonesia defense industry. There are three things that could be our chances, first is to maximize the Indonesian National Armed Forces budget, second is maximize the management of non-military products which has a good prospect in the future, and the last is Pindads strategy that started entering the export market and invite the international companies to produce their products here and open the big chances to move domestic defense industry because Pindad is the lead integrator, said Sudirman.
On the same occasion was also done a presentation about the business overview of PT Pindad (Persero) from the Vice President of Business Development and presentation about finance and procurement of PT Pindad (Persero) from the Vice President of Weapon. In addition, was also carried out a question and answer session between vendors and Board of Directors of PT Pindad (Persero) and led by Vice President of Change Management. (Anggia)
