Deputty Minister of Defense reviews Pindad’s products at Rakor Ditjen Pothan Kemhan

Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia, Lt. Gen. M. Herindra was accompanied by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, Marsdya TNI Donny ermawan Taufanto, M.D.S., Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense Lt. Gen. Ida Bagus Purwalaksana S.I.P.,M.M., Director General of Pothan Kemhan RI Maj. Gen. Dadang Hendrayudha and other TNI Patis directly inspected Pindad products at the Alpalhankam Coordination Meeting for Policy Makers, Users and Producers in Defense and Security Sector 2022, which was held by the Directorate General of Pothan Kemhan RI on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Birawa Hall, Bidakara Tower 2, South Jakarta. Chief of Business Strategy of PT Pindad (Persero), Syaifuddin welcomed a direct visit to the exhibition booth and explained Pindad’s superior products. The defense and security product exhibition activity is one of the coordination meetings agenda aimed at promoting domestic defense industry products to users, build a defense industry ecosystem and build a relationship between stakeholders and defense industry.

The theme for Coordination Meeting for Policy Determinants, Users and Producers in the Defense and Security Sector of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia in 2022 is “Optimizing the Capability of Defense Industry in Supporting the Readiness of TNI, Polri and Related Ministries/Institutions and Realizing the Independence of Defense Industry in the Framework of Improving the National Economy Towards a Resilient Indonesia”. The Coordination Meeting was opened with remarks by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia Lt. Gen. TNI M. Herindra then continued with the Introduction to the Coordination Meeting by the Director General of Pothan Kemhan RI Maj. Gen. Dadang Hendrayudha. The activity was then continued with the main agenda of material presentation by several resource persons, namely Waasrenum Panglima TNI Marsma TNI Wayan Superman, Karo Jakstra Srena National Police Chief Brigadier General Kasmudi, S.I.K., Head of the Center for Domestic Product Improvement Nila Kumalasari and moderator by the Chair of KKIP Technology & Offset Expert DR. Ir. Yono Reksoprodjo, Dic. One of the main topics in this coordination meeting is the development of defense independence through the domestic defense industry.

In his remarks, the Wamenhan RI gave a mandate to all participants of the Coordination Meeting regarding the development of National Defense Industry. “First, create a healthy and good defense industry ecosystem. Second, build independence and increase competitiveness so that Indonesia has the ability as a system integrator. Third, create smart solutions or innovations in various fields that support the needs of domestic defense equipment. Fourth, carry out global reforms supply chain by strengthening international strategic cooperation. Fifth, change the focus to prioritize market needs so that they can achieve a larger market share,” Wamenhan RI explained. He also adviced the entire defense industry that was present to carry out good corporate management through simple, transparent & accountable principles.

PT Pindad (Persero) together with 4 Indonesian defense industries that are PT LEN Industri (Persero), PT PAL Indonesia (Persero), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) and PT Dahana (Persero) formed a Holding of SOEs Defense Industry called Defend ID and each of SOEs displays various defense and security flagship products. Defend ID’s involvement in the Coordination Meeting for Policy Determinants, Users and Producers in the Defense and Security Sector is a form of support for the government, especially the Ministry of Defense in fostering Indonesia’s defense independence.

Pindad displays a variety of superior and latest weapons such as SS2-V4 HB, SS2-V5 A1, PM3, SPR 3, SPR 4, Mag4, G2 Combat, G2 Premium, Mo-1 CO (Mortar Cal. 60mm), Mo-2 LR (Mortar Cal. 60mm) and Mo-3 SB (Cak. 81mm mortar). The latest products displayed include SPM1 (Advanced Shooting Rifle), Varian Pistol Armo (Polymer Frame – with the advantage of being lighter & more precise) and P3A (for self-defense purposes).

The Coordination Meeting for Policy Makers, Users and Producers in the Defense and Security Sector 2022 was attended by 197 participants from the Defense Industry of SOEs and POEs as well as the Ministry of Defense, TNI Headquarters, TNI AD, TNI AL and TNI AU.
