Pindad Introduces Ventilators & Other Products To Fight Covid-19

Bandung - PT Pindad (Persero) introduced a ventilator and other products to approve Covid-19 on a working visit by the Chairman of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD), AA La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti (20/4). The Managing Director, Abraham Mose along with the Board of Directors accepted the Chairman of the DPD to join the ranks. While the products launched are Manual Resutitator Ventilator (Pindad VRM), Covent-20 Ventilator in collaboration with the University of Indonesia, Cannon Fog Disinfectant, Covid-19 Mobile Sterilization Chamber, as well as PT Pindad Enjiniring Indonesia's (PT PEI) disinfection products as provided by disinfectants and APD equipment list of PPE clothes, face protection helmets and goggles.

Pindad VRM

Pindad VRM was designed and developed with a team of medical experts from Pindad General Hospital as an alternative solution to the lack of ventilators in the care of current Covid-19 patients. Pindad VRM has a simple design and operation, uses locally available components and raw materials and meets the minimum medical required criteria (tidal volume, respiratory rate, etc.). Currently Pindad is requesting the process of testing the feasibility of the equipment to the Health Facilities Safety Center (BPFK).

Covent-20

While Covent-20 is an emergency ventilator and transportation with a constant cycle time and volume that is designed for use in prehospital, intra-hospital, inter-hospital and transportation planning. Special ventilators are used for adult patients with tidal volumes from 300 ml to 600 ml which can be in spontaneous breathing or respiratory distress or failure so that ventilation support is needed. There are two modes developed in Covent-20 namely CPAP (Oxygen therapy) and CMV (respiratory failure patients).

Pindad is the most ready and qualified SOE (making technology and facilities) in making ventilators, a tool designed to help patients with respiratory failure by providing oxygen.

Cannon Fog Disinfectant

Fog Cannon disinfectant is a motorized disinfectant shooter that is applied to operated vehicles. Available in 3 sizes namely large (1000 L tank volume, 900 mm diameter, gasoline motor drive), medium (1000 L tank volume, 700 mm diameter, electric drive) and small (200 L tank volume, 450 mm diameter, electric drive). Medium sized canons transported by truck can fire disinfectants with a range of 10 m.

Pindad has used this tool in collaboration with the Bandung City Fire and Disaster Management Office (Diskar PB) to spray disinfectants at various points in Bandung.

Mobile Sterilization Chamber Covid-19

Is a sterilization chamber that spray disinfectant vapors throughout the body to sterilize viruses and bacteria. Pindad Sterilization Chamber does not use hazardous materials, non alcoholic, toxic free and Neutral PH so it is safe and in accordance with WHO recommendations. This tool was created because of WHO Indonesia's concern regarding carsiogenic materials, this chamber uses disinfectants that are environmentally friendly so the use of chambers must be continued as part of Covid-19 prevention.

Disinfectant Fluids & PPE Equipment

PT PEI also manufactures environmentally friendly disinfectant fluids that have received WHO approval and PPE equipment consisting of PPE clothing, face shield helmets and goggles to support medical needs in treating Covid-19 patients.
