Pindad Held National Seminar on Technology of Medium Caliber Munitions (20 - 40 mm) & Construction o
PT Pindad (Persero) held a national seminar on medium caliber (20 mm) munition technology and capability building in Indonesia on April 9th, 2019 at Aston Sentul Hotel, Bogor. The seminar is part of a series of activities to commemorate the 36th Pindad Anniversary and was held as a contribution of Pindad to increase national capacity in the field of Moderate Caliber Munitions (20-40 mm) through networking, knowledge sharing and discussion with the users, policy makers, industry, researchers and college.
The seminar was opened by the Director of Technology and Development of Pindad, Ade Bagdja, Deputy President Commissioner of Pindad, Sumardi, Commercial Director of NLC, Daniel Aren, Defense Industry Policy Committee (KKIP), Sanusi and attended by users (TNI), government, research institutions, University.
The purpose of this seminar is to gain insight and conduct discussions on the basic knowledge and technology of the latest medium caliber munitions, as well as insights and discussions about missiles and rockets and how to build capabilities in Indonesia.
The seminar presented speakers representing the Director General of Defense at the Ministry of Defense, Asrenum Commander in Chief of TNI, the domestic defense industry producing munitions namely Pindad and speakers from the industry of external munition technology providers namely Lachaussee from Belgium.
The objectives of the implementation of this seminar are:
· Users (TNI / Polri, etc.) are satisfied by munitions with good quality
· Defense industry and stakeholders understand more about medium caliber munitions
· Building the capability of medium caliber munitions, missiles and rockets in Indonesia
· Promote the national defense industry to become a global player in the munitions field
· And improve national competence
Pindad itself has produced various types of munitions that comply with NATO standards: Small Caliber Munitions (MKK) from 5.56 mm to 12.7 mm and special munitions such as mortar, grenade and pyrotechnic. Pindad plans to make investments in the production lines of medium caliber munitions assemblies, covering 20 mm, 25 mm, 30 mm, 40 mm and armor-piercing, high-explosive, smoke, illumination, training and anti-personnel cartridges that have the ability to fight light armor , material and target personnel
