Increase the level of openness, Defense Industry SOEs hold a sharing session with KIP

The Information & Documentation Manager (PID) of the Defense Industry of SOEs held a sharing session meeting with the Central Information Commission (KIP). The meeting, which was held on Friday, May 21, 2021, took place at the Central KIP Office and was received by Cecep Suryadi, the commissioner for Institutional Affairs of KIP. This event is one of the efforts of the Defense Industry of SOEs to continue to increase the level of public information disclosure.

In his speech, Cecep Suryadi explained that there are still many SOEs that fall into the uninformative category. “There are still many SOEs that have not provided the company information needed by public, there are 85 percent of SOEs that fall into the uninformative category, 6% less informative, 7% informative enough, and only 1% companies that fall into the informative category,” explained Cecep Suryadi.

In this meeting with KIP, the Defense Industry of SOEs PID received refresher knowledge about what things should be published to the public so that the public can monitor performances and achievements of SOEs as a public body.

Meanwhile, according to the representative of the Defense Industry of SOEs PID Adi Prastowo from  PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) said in his speech, the important point of sharing with KIP is important to fulfilling information disclosure for public.

“Defense Industry of SOEs can increase the level of public information disclosure and quality services,” said Adi Prastowo.

As a public company or SOEs, it is required to convey information about companies to the public, on the other hand, as a national defense industry SOEs for the Defense Industry also has the obligation to keep some information about companies to the public.

Therefore, the sharing session with KIP is seen as very useful for the State-Owned Enterprises of the Defense Industry in sorting out things that must be given to the public, without harming its existence as a defense industry. These internal improvement steps are part of the readiness to welcome the Defense Industry Holding which will be filled by PT Len Industri (Persero), PT Pindad (Persero), PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero), PT DAHANA (Persero) and PT PAL Indonesia (Persero).

Pindad is active in producing various defense equipment for the TNI, Polri and has also exported a number of superior products such as ammunition, weapons and combat vehicles to the global market. PT Pindad in addition to producing defense equipment, also has an Industrial Directorate which produces heavy equipment such as excavators, tractors, marine cranes and railroad hooks, traction motors to generators.
