Deputy Minister of Defense Witnessed Pindad's Collaboration with Ukrainian Armored Vehicle Manufactu
KIEV, 7 Feb - PT PINDAD (Persero) established a partnership with one of the combat vehicle makers (Ranpur) from Ukraine, Practica, in an effort to strengthen its ability to become a major player in the local and global defense industry.
The signing of the collaboration was carried out by Pindad President Director Abraham Mose with Development Director Practica DR. Yulia Vysotska was witnessed by Indonesian Deputy Minister of Defense Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, the Indonesian Ambassador to Ukraine, Armenia and Georgia, Yuddy Chrisnandi, and Dirtekindhan Kemhan Laksma TNI Sriyanto.
"I hope that Pindad is serious about carrying out its plan to be able to make Ranpur with qualifications that are able to compete in the global market. I will guard its implementation, because this is part of the president's mission so that the defense industry can produce the main weapons systems (defense equipment) independently," said Wamenhan after witnessed the signing of the cooperation in Kiev, Friday (7/2).
After signing the collaboration, the Deputy Minister of Defense also had the opportunity to conduct a strength test using firearms on ranpur-making materials, in the form of steel plates and bulletproof glass. After that it was continued with ijicoba driving the Mozak II ranpur on the highway to ensure speed and suspension.
"Ranpur is feasible to be developed for our army. Hopefully Pindad can bring in one unit for a parade at the TNI Anniversary in October," he said.
While Pindad President Director Abraham Mose added the scope of the collaboration with Practica in the framework of joint production and development between two companies of various types of 4x4 vehicles and the modernization of combat vehicles which will be discussed later.
"There will be a formation of a correspondent team from both parties to study the capabilities and readiness of the parties related to various projects that will be agreed based on the MoU. In addition there will be an exchange of technical and business information related to the objectives of cooperation," he said.
To note, Practika is a private defense industrial company in the field of combat vehicles in Ukraine which was founded in 1993. Practika is also a founding member of the League of Defense Companies in Ukraine - an organization that unites private defense manufacturing industries in Ukraine.
Starting in 2014, Practika has sent more than 200 various types of vehicles to consumers in the country, such as the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, and the Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
